In 2017 the Global Prevention Coalition endorsed the HIV Prevention 2020 Road Map, which committed countries to achieving key milestones outlined in a 10-point action plan. Communities most affected by HIV - including sex workers, men who have sex with men and other gay men, transgender people, people who drugs and people living with HIV - were concerned that the milestones and indicators outlined in the Road Map did not capture their lived or political realities. Because of this, advocates worked together to develop a series of shadow reports, designed to track progress from their own perspectives. The latest versions of these shadow reports were published in December 2020. Plans for the Coalition's new Road Map are now in the pipeline. This new strategy will guide national and global action on HIV prevention until 2025. Join us at this Satellite event to discuss what the Coalition has achieved and how it can rethink the indicators and research methods it uses to track progress against the new Road Map.
