This session will consider the Global Costs of Ear and Hearing Care from the perspective of Ethics and Economics.
• How do global realities influence access to services?
• What influences the provision of services?
• How are decisions made on how provision is made?
• How are ethical values influenced by the evidence we have of the effectiveness of today’s hearing technologies?
• Are health care finances used wisely?
• What are the barriers to equity of provision?
• How could we improve equity of provision?
Our panelists will share what they know from their varying perspectives and areas of work, and attempt to address these questions and more. We will invite audience participation.
